When Varun vanishes, it was only a matter of time before Suyambu and his fam fall under suspicion. In a place where the local police don't think twice about shaking down citizens in public, Suyambu contemplates the long game. He right away starts thinking with clarity. But, then, I really liked him based on his behavior once he learns of his family's dire straits. I liked Suyambu from jump, enjoyed how amusing he was with his good-humored bluster and his penny-pinching (rupee-pinching?) ways, even though you get the sense he always eventually indulges his family's wishes. Suffice to say, Varun tries to go too far, and, so, the terrible consequences, the inadvertent crime perpetrated by Suyambu's frantic womenfolk. And because Varun is the police Inspector General's spoiled son, there's no ceiling to his predations. Varun is one of those horrible classmates who sneers and bullies.

So, yeah, first third of the movie, we eyeball Suyambu as he contentedly goes about his day-to-day grind, his routine carved up among his time at work where all he does is watch movies, and at the local eatery where he throws occasional shade at the corrupt constabulary, and at home where he delights in the company of his wife Rani (Gautami Tadimalla) and his two lively daughters Selvi (Niveda Thomas) and Meena (Esther Anil).Īnd then, during a school outing, teenager Selvi runs into a goon named Varun (Roshan Basheer). With a run time of three hours, the plot takes a while to get going as roughly the first 45 minutes explore the dynamics of Suyambu's family life and work life and social life, although here and there hints are dropped of elements that'll factor in later once we enter more dramatic territory.
